I recently had the pleasure of working with ABC Roofing in Coral Springs, FL, to replace my roof, which had served me well for 28 years. While the roof itself was still in good condition, my insurance rates had become unmanageable due to its age. After reviewing previous permits, I discovered that ABC Roofing had completed the original installation, prompting me to seek their services once again. I obtained estimates from several companies, and I found that ABC Roofing offered the most competitive pricing, along with exceptional service and a hassle-free experience. I was particularly impressed by the professionalism of the crew during the tear-off and installation process; they were both quick and efficient. The most commendable aspect was their meticulous cleanup—there was no debris left behind, and my landscaping remained undisturbed. We contracted with ABC Roofing Corp to install a standing seam metal roof for us. Then to install new gutters as well. We reached out to them as one of the three companies for estimates as we had been able to observe their work on several other homes in our neighborhood. The roof has been complete now for about four weeks and we are very pleased. The roof panels are from Dynamic Metals. We selected a light color to match our house which also gave us a very high solar reflectivity index (SRI). We have already noticed the lower temperature in the house over that time with several days’ temperatures approaching the high 90s. The gutter color was selected to match the roof and looks great. Overall the process went very well. Joe Simms was well prepared when he came out to take information for our estimate having already determined the roof area. We were still considering whether to do a shingle re-roof or to go with a metal roof. He took time to explain each step of the process for both options including the permitting, inspections, materials to be used, work crews, site needs, payment terms, etc. Working with the office staff was quite pleasant, including Hanna and Jamie, who explained things when we had questions or we called to follow-up on issues or next steps. The work crews worked well together and worked hard. Once the permit was approved, the tear-off / dry-in work, inspections, metal panel and accessories fabrication / delivery and the metal panel installation proceeded in fairly quick order. From the tear-off to metal panels fully installed was 13 days. (See comments below about painting.) At the completion of work on each day of work, the area around the house and roof was cleaned of debris and scrap material. We have found a few nails, screws and tin tags in the bushes around the house but none in the driveway. There were a few things that could have been better, mainly some scheduling and communication from or within ABC Roofing. As an example, we did not always get notice that a work crew was coming or materials were being delivered. We did get advance notice of the tear-off / dry-in work. And for the delivery / fabrication of the metal panels. But the day after that we were surprised by a delivery of materials and were not home to receive and safeguard it in our garage. The person making the delivery had to wait for us. Then he was the one that told us that the metal panel installation was going to start later that same day. As an example of communication within ABC Roofing, from the start they were made aware that one section of our roof that needed different nails and screws due to an exposed inside ceiling in that area. The tear-off / dry-in crew were made aware and had the right materials, e.g. longer nails. However, when the metal panel installation crew started to put down the fire retardant layer over that same area of the roof, they seemed confused. This was even after I had raised the issue with one of the crew members on an earlier work day and suggested that they get guidance from the ABC Roofing foreman. It became evident that this hadn’t happened when I observed the crew tearing off the already installed layers of fire retardant and two layers of 30# felt to see what was underneath when someone within ABC Roofing could have passed along this information before hand. This was disappointing considering how well so much of the rest of the job went. As an example of scheduling, the fascia wood that had to be replaced during the tear-off / dry-in work was supposed to be painted before the metal panel installation started. Instead it wasn't done until all the metal panels were fully installed. Since there was several sections of the replaced fascia that could only be reached while standing on the new metal panels, this became a bit tricky and took parts of two days to finish. Overall we are quite satisfied with our replacement roof. We would recommend ABC Roofing Corp to anyone getting a re-roof of either an asphalt shingle or a metal roof. Cesar who came out and inspected the roof and the company did some minor cosmetic repairs and also the Roof A side. Reliable company. I trust Cesar and have referred him to other friends. The roofing industry can be a hit or miss these days and you have to trust who you use and we trust ABC Roofing. When the day comes hopefully not anytime soon and we need a quote for a new roof we def will call Cesar up to update us on replacing the roof.
